What's everyone up to?
We always stop at the Casino on the way home from a long trip so that's what we're doing.

Mister is doing some barbeque chicken quarters outside and I'm doing some sides - black eyed peas, collard greens, white rice, macaroni and cheese, Mexican cornbread and apple/nut spice cake.

We're doing Blue Cheese Bacon Burgers on the grill! The weather is WONDERFUL today. I'm getting ready to grab a bite before heading off to Southport for the tasting trip. Mom said to get there early for appies and wine tasting! More later!

Also, Costco had a new display wine called Saxa Loquuntur, UNO 2006, Rioja from Carmelo Ortega. 70% Tempranillo and 30%
Garnacha. Anxious to try it tonight. I'll let you know how we liked it since seems like a bargain at $9.99.

We're doing a grilled London Broil, leftover zucchini gratin (Giada), and are experimenting with mashed potatoes. We are forming a short log roll of potato and chives, coating in panko and frying in a pan of butter or peanut oil. Then we'll try deep frying if we are not satisfied with the results--future company side dish--any suggestions?

Leftovers. I wrecked my back bending over a low table to cut out a sewing project. No cooking tonight.

Ouch! You don't realise how much you use your back for cooking until you stand up doing all the prep-work for an involved recipe. At least that's what I discovered one time that I had hurt my back.
Hope that gets better soon.
