For Erin and Fisherpeople
#6
  Re: (...)
Saw this in the Everett paper and thought of the triplets and snacks, but looking at it, I bet it would be a good carry along for fishing also. (or sit in my kitchen dipping it )

Pepperoni pizza dip with mozzarella sticks

8 oz. can no-salt tomato sauce
1/4 cup chopped pepperoni (about 16 slices) (they call for reduced fat, but isn't that an oxymoron?????? )
1/2 tsp. each: dried oregano & dried basil
4 part-skim mozzarella or string cheese sticks

In a blender or food processor, combine the tomato sauce, pepperoni, oregano and basil. Blend till smooth. Divide the mixture between 4 small dishes and serve with mozz. sticks for dipping.

I'm thinking marinara sauce rather than tomato sauce.

OH MY! This sounds sooo good! I'm sending this one to DD! She LOVES mozz. sticks! I'm assuming fried mozz sticks? Although, I could see it working with just the cheese.

I was thinking fried too, but I think it might be just the plain? I know Steph would love it. Will have to give it a try soon.
