Last night I went over to my friend Laura's house(okey gnocchi) to make the BBQ pork steamed buns together. Laura made the filling and dough from a recipe she got from a Chinese woman. I made the dough from
C@H issue 74 and used her filling. Here is a shot of the production.

I see you figured it out.
They look great! And hey, so they aren't perfect, it's taste that counts. I've looked at those. William wants me to do them, but not sure I have time now...but over Easter or the summer I probably will.
OOPS! I was posting while you were...LOL! I LOVE the dishes! Especially the one the buns are on.

Laura also made an oriental slaw and chicken corn silk soup. Doesn't the table look pretty? She has lived all over the world and has collected so many neat dishes and cooking tools.

Oh, and in case anyone was wondering, we could not taste any appreciable difference in the doughs. Since her recipe required 30 mins of kneading, and the
C@H recipe calls for only 5 mins of kneading......well you decide! And hers looked better due to technique and skill, not the dough. Gosh, they were so good and filling. I can't imagine them as an appetizer, I could only eat two and I was full. We had a pretty good dessert too, which I will post separately.
