Okay, I found this at Recipezaar:

Shrimp Bubbles Recipe #24381

I can't remember how many 'bubbles' this makes as it has been awhile since I've made them. But they are yummy.

SERVES 24

1/2 cup butter
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 cup flour
1/3 cup light cream
1 egg yolk, beaten
2 tablespoons water

Filling
4 1/2 ounces shrimp, drained and mashed
2 teaspoons soya sauce
1 tablespoon steak sauce
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon minced onion

1. Combine filling ingredients and mix well.
2. Cut butter& cream cheese into flour until the size of small peas.
3. Add cream stirring until dough forms.
4. Shape into a ball.
5. Roll to 1/8" thickness.
6. Cut into rounds with a 2" cookie cutter.
7. Place tsp of filling in center of each round, and fold in half.
8. Seal and brush with egg yolk mixture.
9. Place on an ungreased sheet; Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.


I think I will make these today or tomorrow. Sounds like a great holiday appetizer. I am out of cream cheese or Iwould make them right now.

these are intriguing little goodies - I copied a couple of the recipes labs posted, will go see how close these are to them.

Thanks, Laura. Still searching, though. The above recipe is actually the first of the two for which I had only posted links, and is the one my mom says is definitely NOT as she remembers, since the one she is trying to find did not have the steak sauce, etc. Also, she is pretty sure that it was much simpler - using something like Pillsbury crescents instead of its own dough.

Thank you for continuing to try to find this.
If blueberry muffins have blueberries in them, what do vegan muffins have?

Oh yeah I forgot you said crescent dough.

Well, back to the drawing board.

(I am still gonna try these tasty looking morsels out though. All is not lost!)
