What's for Dinner, Wednesday?

  Re: (...)
It is Wednesday, isn't it? Forgot the calendar and being in the trailer for a week, I've completely lost track of days! We're going home today and will stop at the casino on the way, have a little dinner and wine with Jim, the bartender, and enjoy the fact that we are back in beautiful Cllalam county (and the sun better be shining or I'm goin' back to Yakima!)

I've missed hearing what everyone is up to dinner-wise, lately. I haven't done much cooking this trip, just fast things on the grill and grazing at the wineries (tough job).

I do have another dinner coming up a week from today for Camaraderie Winery, so soon as I'm home, I've got to get my act together. What a fun trip this has been, met some great folks and even taught a restaurant kitchen how to make risotto...

So, what's everyone up to today?

I bought all those lovely groceries last Saturday and haven't been able to cook a thing all week! I don't even know if I'll be home to cook tonight. As a matter of fact, I just put all the meats in the freezer. I'll be so glad when life gets back to normal.

Hubby and daughter will be grazing among the leftovers tonight. This is my book club night so I'll be dining with girlfriends and discussing "Three Cups of Tea".

Laura has curtains up early tonight so I have some chicken in the fridge with red peppers, garlic and marinara sauce. It'll get popped in the oven and served with, what else, pasta

" even taught a restaurant kitchen how to make risotto... "

Thought you'd just slide that in, did you?
Practice safe lunch. Use a condiment.

Tonite we made the Black Bean Cakes from Issue 60. It was very good 6.5 YUMS from hubby. Very good combo of Latin flavors tho not quite Mexican imho. We enjoyed it and I reccomend you give it a try, a bit fussy, but pretty results. Great for a meatless nite, which we try to have once a week at least.

We went to the hospital today and stopped on the way home- got peppered ham, buffalo chicken wings, swiss cheese, to go with our romaine, tomatoes, English cucumbers, 10/15 onions and blu cheese--served with a $12 Chablis (yes--French)--not great, but good!!I'm sorry--we made a chef's salad.

You don't often hear of Chablis anymore - I used to love a combination (50/50) of chablis and sauterne, quite nice.
