I love radishes, all radishes, but only ever put them in salads or a veggie stir fry. Anyone got better ideas.

We love them cooked with chive butter and salt.

Could you tell us how you do that, Sharon? Boiled or sauteed, sliced or whole, red or white? I've never done this, sounds interesting.

here's an easy, fast and crunchy good dish - found this on my MasterCook a while back - you all probably have it also.

Chicken and Radish Skillet Dinner
Serving Size : 4

1/2 cup chicken broth
OR
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
3 tablespoons vegetable oil -- divided
1 pound boned and skinned chicken breasts -- cut into thin slices
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 (6-ounce) bag radishes -- sliced (about 1 1/2 cups)
4 ounces snow peas -- cut in 1/2-inch pieces (about 2 cups)
1/4 cup sliced green onions (scallions)

In a small bowl, combine chicken broth, cornstarch, soy sauce and ginger until smooth; set aside. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of the oil over high heat until hot. Add chicken and garlic; cook, stirring constantly, just until chicken is cooked through, about 3 minutes. Remove from skillet; set aside. Add remaining 1 tablespoon oil; heat until hot. Stir in radishes, snow peas and green onions; cook and stir for 1 minute; remove from heat. Return chicken to skillet. Stir broth mixture; pour into skillet and bring to a boil. Boil and stir until sauce is clear and slightly thickened, about 1 minute. Serve over hot cooked rice, if desired.

my absolute favorite way to eat radishes in to find the best bread I can (18 Hr will do well), the best butter (unsalted Plugra right now) and make an openfaced radish sandwich with good salt.

I've planted 2 rows of radishes but they didn't do well at all last year. We've moved the garden this year so I'm hoping for the best.

I started eating these in Germany and haven't given them up.

We just steam or cook them in lightly salted water until just tender. Drain, add fresh chives and butter. Love them for Easter.

Steve, I never knew that but it makes sense. I wonder how many other vegetables with green tops can be used that way?
