That sounds good, Jean. Are you going to put an egg on it like Trixxee mentioned?

I'm on my own today. Ron has an all day golf outing that includes lunch and dinner. Heather just called and asked me to go to the casino, so might do that with her even though I'm not much of a gambler. They have good food.

I thought I'd top a little pile of some kind of pasta with the meat and a poached of egg.
I'm always surprised at how good casino food is wherever we've stopped. Go for it - good mom & daughter time. Wink

I say go for it, too!  Ashley went on a really cool trip to all the special sites possible on a six week tour of the US other than New England when she was in high school.  Even though she was too young to gamble, her favorite spot was Las Vegas.  So she and a friend came up with the plan to go see Brittany Spears there when they turned 30!  That's this year!  Reservations and tickets are ready to go for the second week of October!  One of the things they want to do s go to a really nice buffet. So if anybody knows of one, let me know!

Maryann, what is your family doing to avoid Irma?

Tonight, we are having Baked Ziti.

Daphne - go over to C2C and ask that about the buffet. I would highly recommend Bouchon's - but it is dinner. But, got to say we were surprised at how reasonable their $$$ were.

Well, we didn't end up going to the casino after all. Heather brought over a huge bag of radish tops from their garden, so I cleaned and cooked a few to see if they would be any good. But, they just aren't the same as the small leaves that are on the bunches at the produce markets. Too old, I guess.

I just got a message from my brother who is in Winter Park. They are planning to stay home and ride out the storm. I think they are nuts. He did that the last time they had a bad hurricane and I was sure that he would never do it again after the way he described it.

Jean, I'm thinking that machaca would be really good over rice, too.

Maryann, I just checked out their location, and to be honest, I'd probably ride it out there, also.  It may get a little scary for a little while, and the worst will be the inconvenience of power outages (hoping they have a good generator), but they will probably be fine.

Well, instead of riding it out - I'm sure glad they went to a shelter. But, Lab's Mom is what drove them to go because of her apnea machine. And, hopefully your brother and wife will be, also, Maryann.

We are going to have banh mi from Andrea Nguyen's book. Last night I made the very easy 'garlicky silky sausage' so that it could chill overnight. Will be buying the rest of the ingredients at Asia Foods to finish. They make a good banh mi (roll) and always have the pickled vegetables.
