Labs, it's funny about lemon zest and our 'taste' preferences. I can't remember when it started, but I can't seem to not have lemons in the house to add their zest to dishes. Seems to be like vinegar - just ups the flavors so nicely. Will definitely try the tart.

Wednesday's Dinner, 5/3/17??
What's for Dinner?
I'm doing a wintry dinner to reflect this darn weather!! Raining again today. Braised Chicken with Leeks and Morels with a rice pilaf and roasted beet & feta salad.

Sounds delicious. Where did you get morels? The only way we get them around here is if we go look for them ourselves.
Dinner tonight is going to be Grilled Gyro Kebabs from Cuisine's June 2008 issue. This is one of our favorites. Ron's will go into a traditional pita, mine is going into a low carb wrap. Chopped salad on the side.

You are now MY motivation, Maryann! Honest to god.
Well, we just had a pork chop topped with an egg for brunch and I think for dinner we are already remaking the cauliflower bacon cheese chowder. Boy, bacon is getting expensive.

Maryann, no they weren't fresh - dried. But, it always surprised me the flavor that comes from the dried. It was a good dish.

Thanks, T! But, you are the one who got me to try going low carb again after many other failed attempts. And.....you are still with it! Let's see if I can still be motivated in another 2 months!
This weekend will be the true test. My brother and sister-in-law will be coming in for the weekend and dinner is at our house on Friday night. Today I made pizzelles, and tomorrow I will be making two loaves of "babka" which is a Polish sweet bread with white raisins that my dad loves. Saturday night will be my dad's birthday party at J Bella, (I already know what I'm having) and Sunday is my grandson's first communion party, so Heather and James will be hosting that. So, that's a lot of cake, cookies, bread and pasta that I will have to be passing up. Thank goodness there are no carbs in vodka.

Thursday's Dinner, 5/4/17??
What's for dinner??
I'm keeping the chicken from yesterday's dish for Cinco de Mayo and I think I'll make some kind of fish/seafood soup/chowder out of the leek/Morel/broth.

We will be having our Cinco de Mayo meal tonight. Beef enchiladas made with low carb tortillas and my version of a Mexican salad.

We didn't get lunch until after 3! So we are just going to have a salad.
