OMG - Rye dinner rolls!

  Re: (...)
I just thought that a rye dinner roll would be the "bomb" with the pork & kraut dinner so I did a bit of browsing. Due to our space limitations I wanted something that I could toss in the bread machine (no room for the KA & crock pot).

Rye Dinner Rolls for the bread machine

1 cup warm water
1 tbs olive oil
1 beaten egg
1 tsp salt
1/4 c sugar
2 1/2 c bread flour
3/4 c dark rye flour
3 tsp instant yeast
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp caraway seeds (optional)

Put ingredients into the bread machine in the order recommended. Process on the dough program. Turn out onto floured board - shape into rolls and place in a greased pan, cover and rise until doubled. Bake in a 350 oven until rolls are browned. Remove from oven and brush tops with soft butter (about 1/2 TBS) These are foolproof!

Well this is a must do! I'll have to use my KA, but these sound very tasty. Thanks Sharon!

I forgot to ask, how many rolls will this make?

Thanks, Sharon. We love rye bread. Never thought to make rolls that way.

Denise it made 8 huge, I mean HUGE rolls. I think I'll make them smaller next time - maybe use them for those Game Day Sandwiches! Gawd these things are good!

If you're using the KA you'll have to add the extra rise that the bread machine does.
