What a great idea and these are so easy and just delicious!!


Easy Apple Dumplins

The Country Cook blog, 12/1/13 - using Pillsbury Crescent rolls

1 Green Apple (Granny Smith or Golden Delicious)
1 tube (8 oz.) Crescent Rolls
1 stick unsalted butter, melted
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Ground Cinnamon (to taste)
1/2 cup lemon lime soda (Sprite or Mountain Dew work good)

1. Preheat oven to 350F degrees

2. Peel and core apples. Cut apple into 8 slices.

3. Unroll tube of crescent rolls and separate into 8 pieces.

4. On each roll, sprinkle with a bit of cinnamon.

5. Add one apple slice. at the widest end.

6. Roll it up in a nice little bundle. Continue with next 7 rolls the same way

7. Spray an 8-inch square pan with nonstick spray.

8. Place all 8 dumplins into baking dish.

9. Mix together melted butter with sugar and vanilla.

10. Pour butter mixture on top of crescent rolls.

11. Now take soda and pour it around the edges of the crescent rolls.

12. Sprinkle tops with a bit more cinnamon.

13. Bake in preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes.

14. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.

Author Notes
Cook's Notes: Just double the recipe and use a 13x9 pan for 8 servings.

-using fresh peaches, plums, nectarines

These sound awesome! Thanks for sharing this one! I'll have to make this when youngest son gets here for Christmas! His favorite dessert is apple pie!

OMG Jean!!! These were sooooo good and easy to make ahead of time and just warm them in the toaster oven!

Yes, variations could be done. I think Hubby would like a melted piece of cheddah on top instead of inside.

Another great idea from the recipe giver of the Pineapple Crisp!!
