Anybody got a great way or gadget to get corn off the cob

That's less mess than the knife?

Let me know! Please.

I am so tired of the mess. !

Do yo have a bundt or chiffon pan with a center hole? If so put your corn there, then use your chef's knife and let the kernels fall in the pan, no mess.

That was going to be my suggestion. A really sharp knife helps and cut slowly. The kernels don't seem to bounce around as much.

It may be my imagination, but I use my bird's beak knife to cut the kernals off over a 1/2 sheet pan. The little knife seems to 'hug' the ears.

It can still be a pain when you're doing many, tho, that's for sure.

Barbara, does it still work if your corn is not all the same size?

Now I'm wondering how if it could be cut with a mandoline. Mine has a bowl under it...

In the last few weeks, I've probably done at least 12 dozen corn this way. Works like a charm.
Practice safe lunch. Use a condiment.

I love my corn zipper for raw corn, we use a knife for cooked. I used to have a gadget (being polite) that was a serrated loop of metal that you slid over the pointy end of the ear of corn and pushed down. I threw it in the garbage. There was corn on the ceiling and glass front cabinets across the room.
