Yes, that's right! Instead of just ONE cacao pod with which to experiment, someone just gave me THIRTEEN of them!
Maybe, this time, I'll have enough to try making some eating chocolate, not just hot chocolate to drink.

How interesting! Are there multiple cocoa seeds per pod?? Isn't it always interesting to think about how a process like this was ever discovered/developed?

About 30 seeds per pod seems to be the average for these. It depends upon pod size and species. See the pictures in the links in my earlier messages.

I remember reading your original post at some point earlier and I think that it is SO cool that you live in a place where you have access to these intriguing, unusual (to Pennsylvania!!!) foods.
Okay, I keep watching Mimosa... must go and get some work done... soon... my heavens she is adorable!!!
This is getting crazy... I really have things to do but little Mimosa is mesmerizing. Labs, how do you get anything done (or do you wait until she naps?????)
