Question about pottery

  Re: (...)
The friend that gave me the butcher block table also had some things she was going to get rid of. Some were very sentimental and I could tell she was struggling with discarding them. William and I offered to take the stuff off her hands. In the stuff was a HUGE copper skillet that is in bad shape. I don't know if there is any hope for it. But there were two cute white bowls. They are the pottery type and have cracked slightly under the glaze. Are they safe for serving dishes?

Don't know where to find them (Bill may be able to help), but get a lead-testing kit to make sure the glaze isn't loaded with lead.
If blueberry muffins have blueberries in them, what do vegan muffins have?

Leadinspector.com advertises a kit for $12.99. Never used it, but worth a try. Try it on a real piece of lead first and a non leaded item as a control before you trust it. I think lead is the real concern. The copper sounds interesting too, depending on price and condition. Good luck.
