Brazilian Food - homestyle!

  Re: (...)
What a treat for us... On Sunday our exchange student's (well I'm her host auntie!) mom, Jane, made dinner. The main food in Brazil is meat and Jane owns a meat store there. She was not impressed at all with the meat available here!

Anyway, she made fillet (tenderloin seared, and then put in a brown gravy, cheese breads, rice with broccoli, a salad of lettuce, sliced tomato and hearts of palm (no dressing), a grain dish with vegetables and cooked eggs, dessert was a frozen passion fruit dessert with caramel pieces. All very good! Pass me some of those adorable little cheese breads, please!
How fun, to have someone from another country cook a meal for you. Is Jane visiting for the holidays?

Ditto! How cool is that! My daughter was an exchange student to Mexico. I would have loved to eat their food. She came back with new tastes and ideas.

What a wonderful experience! I have heard their meats are FAR superior to ours....there and Argentina.

Oh my, Jeannette, what a great evening that must have been. And, the food looks wonderful and tasty also! I've heard for years there is no comparison between the beef here and that part of the world.

And, from experience, I've never had meat as tasty as the pork and beef we used to raise - no comparison there, either.

Everything will be all right in the end. So if it is not right, then it's not yet the end.
