What's for Dinner, Wed. 12/8?

What's on everyone's menu for tonight?

We're staying here in Corning for another day to get some cooking ahead done. Making Billy's Leek soup, maybe a salad or two for quick eating while we travel.

Will try out the casino bar food (hate buffets!) at mid-day for dinner, hoping it's half as good food as our casino near home has. Love staying at the casino parks, they are so clean and so inexpensive. And our new GPS just leads us to everyone in our travel line.

For once, I'm all set. Rotisserie Chicken and it's already going. Got to run some errands so it'll be cooked when we get back. Also it'll leave James something to pick on while I'm gone to OH to see the new granbabies by in-depth ultra sound!!!! Hopefully this will show us what "kind" they are

I'll probably just do soup and a grilled cheese. The girls are taking Ron to a Cavs game tonight, (his birthday gift) so they will have bar food downtown before the game.

Cis, when do you leave? The "snowbelt" is getting hammered. Drive safely!

Jean - if you ever find yourself down this way, there is a very clean nice casino park in Temecula. It's called Pechanga. It was the very first trip we took.

I don't know why but I am leaning towards a beef/mushroom/barley soup. I've never made it and I'm not sure what cut of beef to start with so I need to look that up right now.

Any suggestions?

Beer braised corned beef brisket in the crock pot and baked potatoes. I think maybe roasted cauliflower and broccoli.

Thanks Trixxee - I'll add this one to the list. Don't know where that is, so will check if it is on our path.

Our dinner tonight is from Bayless Salsas that Cook book. Hubby made the salsa and canned it! Shrimp and rice dish with mellow red salsa - a repeat!

I hope you can get there safely Cis! I know you're excited!

I've got a pot of chili on to simmer...thankfully remembered I still had a couple of cans of Hot Hatch Chilies left. This will be a first for us, but I KNOW it will be good! I only added one can for 2 pounds of beef, but I have another on standby. I'll check for seasonings in about 30 minutes or so. If it's not too hot, I'll add another one.
