What's for Dinner - Wed., 11/17??

What's on everyone's menu for tonight?

This is the 3rd Wednesday, so we're headed to the 'big city' and taking my old auntie desserts we tested for the winery last week - she's going to be a happy little ole lady!!

On the way home, I'm stopping at the casino and buying to bring home and deconstruct -
taco salad wrap
Memphis sweet potato nachos (hmmmm, may just have this there )
Crab stuffed butterflied shrimp wrapped in bacon, deep fried and topped with Hollandaise sauce (hmmm, maybe I can talk Roy into having this there )

I think we are in trouble for today.

Our HEB is selling and steaming lobster for $6.97/lb, so we are splurging!!! That is a really good price for us.

Yum - everything mentioned! I'm leaning towards burgers and sweet potato fries tonight.

It's book club night for me. The hostess opted for a local Italian restuarant instead of cooking herself. So, I'll be having pasta and a salad.

We're headed out for dinner as well, probably just to the local pub for their flatbread. It changes regularly, but is usually delicious.

I'm making the BLT Pasta I found the other day, and will probably kill off the remainder of the beef in hot roast beef sandwiches. This is not exactly what I want or need. I think I may be getting sick....throat is REALLY scratchy and sore. Soup would be MUCH better. Since I've got some chicken legs and a stray breast in the freezer, I may go for soup, or a pot pie...just so happens I've got the crust.

Daphne, I'm sorry you're feeling a little "crusty"! LOL

I am going to use some turkey and pork meatballs to fake a Swedish meatball or stroganoff meatball, mashed taters, and something green.

I realized I didn't have celery OR peas...so no chicken pot pie. Back to plan A, the BLT Pasta. I'll let you know how it turns out.

This was very good! It really did surprise me how much it reminded me of a BLT sandwich in pasta from. It's also very quick and easy with little prep and clean up. I'll definitely do it again. It would be particularly good at the peak of summer tomato season.

Now off to get a toddy and watch Pioneer Woman on Throwdown with Bobby Flay! Then beddie bye for the sicky!

Where is the recipe for the BLT pasta, Daphne. I remember talking about it, but don't remember from where. Hope you feel better this a.m.

Well, I was disappointed yesterday - the casino is still working on the new memu, so won't have the taco salad wrap offered until then. But we did split an order of the Swt. potato nachos and that was really tasty. It also had black beans and a mixture of pepper jack and cheddar. And, yes the chips were fried, not oven-baked and so much better.
