A dutch oven is a thick-walled cooking pot with a tight-fitting cover.  Does anyone here using dutch oven for cooking?

Thank you for your question.  I still used a dutch oven when I want to do a slow, traditional braise or chili.

I have a Lodge cast iron dutch oven that is over 40 years old, seasoned perfectly and still use it regularly. Love it!

I used to have one of those . . . sadly my ex got custody of it!  It was awesome.  Sigh!  I kinda wish I had it now since it would work on my induction burner.

That's too bad, Sharon. It's one of my most cherished pieces. Wink

FYI, you can still buy them. I got one for my daughter a few years ago. They are a bit different now, and have some kind of so-called seasoning on them, but you still have to do your own seasoning for them to eventually become non-stick. In the cold weather, Ron loves to use a well seasoned cast iron skillet to cook a steak. He has it down to a science.
