Re: (...)
I thought I would share this salad. It has become one of our favorites especially with BBQ sandwiches or fish. I always liked the Broccoli Salad, but never made it and while I liked the flavors I didn't really like eating a bowl full of raw broccoli floretts. So, I decided on this:
I don't have exact measurements for the dressing. But I will give an estimate.
1 bag broccoli slaw mix.
About 1/2 cup raisins
About 3 or 4 green onions small sliced
Dressing
About 3/4 cup mayonaise - maybe a heavy 1/2 cup
About 1 tablespoon of honey (a good squirt)
About 2 Tbsp either rice wine vinegar or Apple Cider Vinegar
Salt and pepper.
Quick, easy and tasty. Enjoy!

What is "broccoli slaw mix," why is it in a bag and how much of everything is in such a bag?

Interesting. From the picture, it appears they use the broccoli stems.
Ironic that I've never heard of it, since the city where I live was, essentially, built by Dole (i.e. Standard Fruit). Of course, they're here because of pineapples and bananas, but it was just funny to see that the slaw was from them.
It says it's just broccoli, carrots and red cabbage, so it shouldn't be too difficult to duplicate.

It is the stems. I buy a brand that Walmart carries - Marketside I think. The stems are jullienned small. Carrots and purple cabbage are shredded. Not as much cabbage or carrots, mostly broccoli. The package was labled 12 oz and serving size was 1 1/2 cups per serving - 4 servings per bag. Very crunchy.
