Brunch/Sat 3/13/10 - Old Bay - 03-13-2010

We had bacon/lettuce/mayo sandwiches on whole wheat toast, with leftover (from last nite) buffalato caprese salad on the side. A deconstructed BLT ? We really enjoyed it.
We had a South African Sauvignon Blanc--Sebeka--very crisp, a lot of citrus--excellent and different from the NZ or French varieties. Don't overlook South African wines.

Sounds delightful.

Not sure what Buffalato is, but I would probably like it!

It's fresh mozzarella made from water buffalo milk like the original from Italy. We can't get it very often (or afford it either!!).

AND did you add any basil leaves to the BLT???? So good, Bill. We're liking the So African wines we've tried so far.

Fun Brunch...we haven't had one for a while, darn.

The fresh basil was in the leftover caprese salad-- a little wilted, but good!!

Very nice, Bill. You are so lucky to get the buffalo mozz ANY time. I'm lucky to get plain ol' fresh.

Sounds great! Buffalo mozz is a rarity around here, I've only had it twice in restaurants, and have never seen it in stores.

When my tomatoes and basil come in this summer, I may have to hunt down a source online.

I'm with you PJ. While Caprese Salad is a summer favorite around here, I sure would like to try it with Buffalo mozz.

We found this batch at Costco--reasonable.
