Remaining visible within a forum would not jeopardise the privacy of your email addresses, nor any other such facets of your identity.
The only reasons to be invisible on any forum are:
- To hide something you don't want anyone else to know,
- Because you don't feel comfortable about having others aware of your activities within the forum, and
- If you ever wind up with someone who sends you a PM every time they see you are on the forum. (Invisibility would not stop the PMs - only the other person's ability to know when you are online, which often is enough.)
