Brining.....to rinse or not to rinse - Mare749 - 05-29-2007 Jean's recipe for brining says to rinse well before proceeding with rest of recipe. C@H's says nothing about rinsing off the brine before proceeding. What does everyone think about this? Maryann Re: Brining.....to rinse or not to rinse - Old Bay - 05-29-2007 I would rinse it--the brine worked internally--might prove to salty if not rinsed. Re: Brining.....to rinse or not to rinse - Lorraine - 05-29-2007 I would definitely rinse very well. I forgot to rinse pork hocks once that I had brined. Gack. Re: Brining.....to rinse or not to rinse - cjs - 05-29-2007 I agree with everyone else - rinse Re: Brining.....to rinse or not to rinse - pjcooks - 05-29-2007 Yup, brined pork chops a few days ago, don't know why C@H doesn't say to rinse, CI does. PJ Re: Brining.....to rinse or not to rinse - Roxanne 21 - 05-29-2007 YUP!!! You must rinse otherwise the saltiness will be too overpowering!!! (and any other ingredients you may use0. Brining is the ultimate tenderizer and taste enhancer---but rinse---IMHO!!! Re: Brining.....to rinse or not to rinse - Mare749 - 05-29-2007 Thanks everyone, I kind of thought so. Maryann |
