Saltimbocca Chicken Breasts - Half_Baked - 10-16-2006

..with Sage Sauce and Arugala Pasta.

Did we ever get a date to discuss this? Originally it was the 30th but we have a BIRTHDAY GIRL!

Re: Saltimbocca Chicken Breasts - cjs - 10-16-2006

If I remember rightly (don't take that to the bank ) - I think both are due to be critiqued on Monday, the 30th. I can hardly wait...(like you were with this last one)

Yay. Thank you Jean.

Re: Saltimbocca Chicken Breasts - Bizymomma - 10-27-2006

I've been to 2 different grocery store today and can't find fresh sage! What's a girl to do? Any suggestions?

Re: Saltimbocca Chicken Breasts - Half_Baked - 10-27-2006

I've been to 3 and can't find prosciutto. Now I know I've seen and purchased this in many stores, on many occasions. This is just ridiculous. There can't be a season for prosciutto. I bought fresh angel hair so tomorrow the mission is prosciutto so I can make the chicken tomorrow night.

If you can't find fresh sage, I guess dried will have to do. I had a sage 'tree' and am drying that as we speak. Mine will still be kinda fresh since it is still somewhat supple.

Oh my, Have you tried WalMart? I still have sage growing here, but our branch WalMart usually has it in the "salad" section. Good luck!

Re: Saltimbocca Chicken Breasts - Half_Baked - 10-27-2006

No I haven't tried a Walmart but I'll give it a whirl tomorrow. Thanks!

Re: Saltimbocca Chicken Breasts - dollop - 10-27-2006

Good luck...maybe CALL them and save on the gas in case they are out.
edit: Maybe a health food store or COOP, too.

Re: Saltimbocca Chicken Breasts - Half_Baked - 10-27-2006

I use it all summer with melon and at many other times. I swear, this is just very odd.

Re: Saltimbocca Chicken Breasts - Bizymomma - 10-27-2006

No, Walmart didn't have any sage.... using dry is gonna stink!
