Yellow Raspberries - esgunn - 08-03-2006 Hi all. Has anyone ever experimented with yellow raspberries? I have enough this year to try a batch of jam, but wasn't sure how it would work? I think they are lower acid than regular raspberries? Maybe a syrup? I just don't know if their flavor would hold up. Any thoughts? Re: Yellow Raspberries - Bizymomma - 08-03-2006 Erin.....are they tart or just sweet? I've never had and I'm just curious. I've seen pics. but never tasted.... Re: Yellow Raspberries - esgunn - 08-03-2006 They are just a sweet milder raspberry. Re: Yellow Raspberries - Roxanne 21 - 08-04-2006 Never heard of yellow raspberries. I can't think of any reason why you couldn't do anything that you would do with the red ones---jam sounds great!! I would guess it is like any other berry----sweeten according to your taste-s'all. Curious to hear if I'm wrong--- Re: Yellow Raspberries - cjs - 08-04-2006 Interesting - I've only used them as garnish. I haven't tried them in jams/jelly/conserves. Let us know how they work. What a pretty sorbet the yellow berries would make...hmmmmm |
