Chicken "Pitcher" - Bizymomma - 07-10-2006 Okay guys, just something to share. When I brine a chicken, I always use the cheap 1 gallon pitcher! I put the chicken in, then add the brine! It's always worked perfect..no worry about plastic bags breaking, and the chicken stays completely submerged! Plus it fits pretty well in the refridgerator! http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j59/Bizymomma/IMG_2165.jpg Re: Chicken "Pitcher" - DFen911 - 07-10-2006 That's brillant! Thanks for sharing that tip How big is your chicken? (poundage wise) Re: Chicken "Pitcher" - Bizymomma - 07-10-2006 Almost 5 pounds! LOL...my kids are like "Mom, that is so gross!" It does look kind of morbid when you open the fridge.... Re: Chicken "Pitcher" - DFen911 - 07-10-2006 Lol that in and of itself is reason enough to do it Re: Chicken "Pitcher" - Bizymomma - 07-10-2006 I totally agree!!! Re: Chicken "Pitcher" - cjs - 07-10-2006 Well, other than a batch of Bloody Marys, I can't think of a better use for that picther!!! Re: Chicken "Pitcher" - bjcotton - 07-10-2006 What a novel idea! I've always had trouble with deciding on what to put it in. I just happen to have one of those pitchers. Thanks, problem solved |
