My best friend Joanna is flying in from Lake Oswego with her 18 year old son for the weekend to look at an art college for him in Laguna and they are stopping here for dinner tonight. I haven't seen Joanna in 11 years but we talk via computer every day. Somehow I never did manage to lose those 10 pounds I wanted to before her visit. LOL.

Trixxee, it's a shame that Joanna didn't give you several months' notice before her visit. And not those months over the holidays, either...
But I'm guessing that she won't even notice the pounds, it will just be wonderful to finally get together.Here, spaghetti and meatballs tonight. And some old vine zin to keep us warm.

Oh she gave me notice - 3 months worth. LOL. It's just too bad I waited until yesterday to do anything about it.
I suppose neither one of looks the same at age 53 versus 42.

What would you get? I'm stumped!
But I do know we are getting this dessert and we never get dessert. Tres leches cake is her favorite. And of course Michael will get churros with a chocolate dipping sauce.
