Lefsizza! - labradors - 10-12-2013 Finally made Jean's lefse recipe and I understand why everyone liked them so much. Of course, the recipe from the book makes a lot, so I only made half a batch, but there's still quite a bit left, so here's what I did for dinner, tonight: First, I made about a ten-inch lefse. Then, I made half a batch of the Norwegian Meatballs with Brown Gravy from Cuisine at Home, Issue 65, October 2007 and put that on top of the lefse. Finally, I topped it all with diced Jarlsberg and baked it until it was just right. YUM! Re: Lefsizza! - Mare749 - 10-12-2013 That looks and sounds great, Labs! Very creative use for lefse. Now I want some!!! Re: Lefsizza! - cjs - 10-13-2013 Oh my, why does this sound somewhat sacrilegious???????? But good! Now, you've got me curious, Labs. Just looked at the links and what great memories they are - the first one about the meatballs, must have been done just as Laura joined the forum as I was welcoming her!! The seconde one, well - it's all about my Grandma, so just loved rereading it!! By the way, completely O.T. - but years ago I knew how to add a title to a link when posting it, but I sure can't remember how I did it. Will someone tell me again, please?? Re: Lefsizza! - labradors - 10-13-2013 There's a special form of the URL tag that makes it all work. Here's what to do:
lefse Re: Lefsizza! - cjs - 10-13-2013 Oh Labs - I almost spewed coffee all over. I looked at the first sentence and thought - what's the "URL tag"? So, I can't even move on to Step 1 - which is what is an opening tag?...... (this is going to be a long day, eh?) Re: Lefsizza! - labradors - 10-13-2013 Each step is shown, by example, in the "code" boxes and a URL is just a link. "Tags" are just the additional, special pieces of text that "mark up" the message text in order to accomplish certain things. In forums, such as this, tags are enclosed in "square brackets" (the [ and ] characters). Some examples of simple tags include the letter "b" for bold, "i" for italics and "u" for underline. Thus, you can make something show up in boldface text by preceding it by an opening square bracket, the letter "b" and a closing square bracket: Code: Code: [b]This is some text that will be bold. Most tags come in pairs: one to indicate the start of what is being marked and the other to indicate the end. The "closing" tags look the same as the "opening" tags, but just has a slash after the opening bracket: Code: Code: [b]This is some text that will be bold.[/b] With that understanding of tags, the "code" blocks in the earlier message should make more sense now. Even if you don't fully understand it, just follow the example and it should work. Here's the example expressed a little differently: Code: Code: [url=PUT YOUR LINK HERE]PUT YOUR TITLE HERE[/url] Re: Lefsizza! - Mare749 - 10-13-2013 Quote: Glad I wasn't the only one who thought the same thing! Re: Lefsizza! - cjs - 10-13-2013 Maryann, I think Daphne jinxed me by congratulating me on how far I've come in computers.......... O.K., I'll study this Labs. I remember it being so easy. Re: Lefsizza! - labradors - 10-13-2013 WAIT! I'm so used to typing this stuff that I forgot about something that I'm sure will be an easier way for you. Just below the area where you type your message (except in the "Quick Reply"), there's a little table of items labelled "Instant UBB Code." All you need to do is to click the one that says "URL" and it will give you a little pop-up where you can enter the link. After you click "OK" for that, it will give you ANOTHER little pop-up that says "Now enter the title of the webpage you wish to reference," where you can enter the title. When you click "OK" for that, it will automatically insert the appropriate tags, etc. into your message. My earlier instructions WILL work, but this is much easier when you're not accustomed to entering tags just as part of your typing. Re: Lefsizza! - cjs - 10-13-2013 THAT'S WHAT I REMEMBER,!!
