MasterChef UK - LOL! - labradors - 03-15-2013

I love some of the comments from John Torode and Gregg Wallace on the UK version of MasterChef. In the latest episode, Gregg tells one of the contestants, "What you've done is cooked it quite nicely and tipped in a barrel-load of bland." ROTFL!

The Brits have mastered the art of understated insult.

Indeed.

One of my favourite moments from Fawlty Towers was when Basil had to wait on a table in the restaurant and it had a couple with a REALLY bratty kid. The mother said, "You'll have to excuse him: he's rather highly strung," and Basil responded, "Yes. He should be." ROTFL!

I love this exchange:
Lady Astor: "If you were my husband, Winston, I'd put poison in your tea".
Winston Churchill: "If I were your husband, Nancy, I'd drink it".
The art of insult and response. No profanity. How refreshing.

Classic. Haven't heard that one in a while.

One of my favourite movie quotes is from a British film: "You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity."

(The title got censored out by the forum, although that's not the meaning intended in the movie. Let's just say it was the next film by the same people who had made Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels).

Tonight, upon encountering one contestant's undercooked duck breast, Gregg said, "I reckon I could resuscitate that duck." LOL!
