Rating Panini Makers - cjs - 10-08-2012

I just posted this on my facebook - I have never been so surprised at a cooking method. It really works!!

This steak was done on a panini maker - Michael Chiarello's that I've had forever! I pulled it at 123° and it was perfect.

Maryann, you may want to rethink getting one of these. Does anyone else have one that they like or dislike??

Looks good to me, Jean! I'm going to see what's on amazon right now.

ETA: Guess they don't make that one anymore.

Just checked out M. Chiarello's Napa Style catalog and they don't show it either. darn, that's a shame. I wonder about ebay or one of those....

Well, I guess for now I will just have to continue using my homemade method with a Le Creuset grill pan on the bottom and a cast iron skillet on top as a press. It works okay...

But, one of these days, I want a really good panini maker!

Have you considered Cuisinart's Griddler? I love mine and I have used it as above. Super easy to clean as well. Costco usually has them on sale this time of year.

PS, it is great for Cuban Sandwiches on the flat part too!
